Our team
Gunn Design is a small specialist landscape architectural practice that draws on the services of, and collaborates with, other professionals and trades.
Our small size ensures that we take a hands-on approach to every project we work on. The benefit of this is we are very responsive to client input as a project progresses and can easily incorporate this feedback into the finished design.
Tom Gunn
Tom Gunn qualified as a Landscape Architect from Lincoln University in 2002 with first class honours, winning the Boffa Miskell Landscape Design Award. He worked for Morgan Pollard and Associates on a full range of projects before setting up his own practice.
Prior to training as a landscape architect he was a ceramic artist, having trained at Otago Polytechnic School of Art. In addition, Tom has an engineering trade qualification.
He is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects.
Matt Gunn
Matt Gunn comes from a background of managing and developing technical documentation.
Before this he worked in the building industry for many years, developing skills in many aspects of construction.
Together, our wide range of experiences and talents enable us to design and construct unique landscape features from a variety of materials. We bring the eye of the designer to the construction process and practical construction experience to the design process.
