Gunn Design Landscape & Construction

Tom can think outside the square and combine elements of your home design into the landscaping to make the two compliment each other.

GOVERNORS BAY STEPS

On this property high up on the hill overlooking Governors Bay we have constructed a series of steps and pads. The brief from the clients was for a practical, low maintenance access solution from the driveway to the front entrance of the house, linking in the storage area under the house.

The site can remain damp and slippery over the winter months so timber decking steps were not a practical solution for this property. Our design solution was to incorporate corten steel, timber and stone chip. Corten steel step risers create a sharp front edge and the compacted stone chip steps and pads make a practical low maintenance surface.

The clients intend to extensively plant out with native plants which will soften the overall look of the design over time and anchor it into the landscape.
